How can I keep my candles looking their best?
To preserve the beauty and fragrance of your candle:
- Store in a cool, dry place.
- Avoid long exposure to direct sunlight or strong lighting, which may cause fading.
- Keep away from heat and humidity. Wax can soften at temperatures above 80°F.
What kind of wax do you use?
We use a luxury coconut and soy wax blend selected for its clean burn, excellent scent throw, and smooth appearance. Each candle is carefully crafted for both performance and elegance.
What kind of wicks do you use?
Our candles feature premium cotton wicks that are:
- Lead-free
- Clean burning
- Carefully tested with each fragrance and jar style
Do I really need to trim the wick?
Yes. For the best burn experience:
- Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each lighting.
- Trim whenever you see a carbon “mushroom” on the tip.
This helps reduce smoke and soot while extending the life of your candle.
Why is wax left on the sides of my jar?
Some wax hang-up is normal, especially during early burns. To help prevent tunneling:
- Allow your candle to burn long enough for the melt pool to reach the edges, usually 3 to 4 hours per burn.
Our candles are tested for even burns, but burn habits and room conditions can affect performance.
Why do I sometimes see small puffs of smoke while burning?
This can happen if:
- The wick is too long.
- Your candle is near drafts from vents, windows, or movement.
Trim the wick and move the candle to a draft-free area for a cleaner burn.
What is the “mushroom” on my wick?
A carbon buildup, commonly called a mushroom, can form on wicks, especially in highly fragranced candles. It is normal. Simply let the candle cool and trim the wick before relighting.
What is the best way to extinguish my candle?
For minimal smoke:
- Use a wick snuffer, or
- Gently place a heat-safe lid over the flame to suffocate it.
Avoid blowing out the candle, as it can cause smoke and splatter hot wax.
Do your wicks contain lead?
No. We never use lead wicks. All wicks are cotton-based and compliant with U.S. safety standards.
Do you ship year-round, even in hot weather?
Yes, we ship year-round. During warmer months, we may:
- Ship earlier in the week to reduce heat exposure.
- Recommend having someone available to bring packages inside promptly.
Once shipped, heat-related issues caused by extreme temperatures are beyond our control, though we package with care.
Do you ship to PO Boxes?
Yes, we can ship to PO Boxes when supported by the carrier selected at checkout. Some shipping methods may be limited.
How long does delivery take after shipping?
After your order ships, delivery typically takes 1 to 7 business days, depending on your location and carrier. Tracking information will be provided once your order leaves our hands.
Holiday seasons may result in carrier delays outside our control.
What if my order arrives damaged?
If your candle arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours through our Contact Us page. Include photos and keep the original packaging so we can assist you as quickly as possible.
What if I do not like the fragrance I ordered?
Because fragrance preferences are personal, we do not accept returns or exchanges based on scent choice unless the product is defective. We provide detailed fragrance notes to help guide your decision.
If a scent is not for you, candles make wonderful gifts.
Can I reuse or refill my candle jar?
For safety reasons, we do not recommend refilling jars with new wax. However, once cleaned, they make beautiful containers for small items or decor. Most jars can also be recycled where glass is accepted.
Why should I stop burning when about 1/2 inch of wax remains?
This is a safety recommendation. When wax gets too low, the glass may overheat, which can lead to cracking or surface damage. Always burn candles on heat-resistant surfaces and discontinue use when about 1/2 inch of wax remains.
